Team member

Phillip Thomas

Phillip has been in the auction industry for 40 years having worked, as a teenager with his uncle A.R.C.Thomas in his Parramatta auction rooms. Phillip worked in London with Sotheby’s and with Phillip, Son & Neale for many years before returning to Sydney, joining a local auctioneering Company where his rôles included Director and General Manager, prior to becoming joint owner of Raffan, Kelaher & Thomas.

Phillip has extensive knowledge of all fields of Decorative Arts, Antique Furniture, Colonial Furniture, Decorative Arts, Australian and European Paintings, and Antique Silver. For many years Phillip was the principal valuer for the contents of the properties owned and administered by the National Trust of Australia (NSW)

Jonathan Alford F.G.A.A.

Jonathan, who has been in the auction industry for over 35 years, commenced his professional career in the Jewellery trade in London before transferring to Sydney and joining a local auction company, where he became a a Director and General Manager prior to establishing his own practice. He became joint owner of Raffan Kelaher & Thomas four years ago.

Jonathan’s has extensive knowledge of Antique Furniture and Decorative Arts and is a Commonwealth Government Approved Valuer in the fields of Silver, Jewellery, Australian Art, and Clocks and Watches.

Jim Kelaher

Having co-founded the Company and guided it for 32 years, Jim continues his involvement with the Company as a Consultant.

Jenny Ankin

Jenny Ankin is head of our Decorative Arts Department. Jenny has been at RK&T for nearly 30 years and has extensive knowledge of Decorative Arts: Ceramics, Glass, Art Glass, Silver, Silver-Plate and Lighting - with a particular love of 20th Century & Contemporary Design, and Australiana.

Scott Smith

Scott Smith is head of our Furniture Department. Scott has been at RK&T for 20 years and has an extensive knowledge of Antique and Period Furniture, with a particular love for Cedar and other Colonial Australian furniture.

Damian Meagher

Damian assists Jenny in Decorative Arts and has an excellent knowledge with a particular love for some of the more esoteric areas such as Militaria, Oriental Art and Anthropological Artefacts.

Simone Ferro

Simone is our Chief Administrative Officer. Simone started at RK&T in 1992 and is highly regarded throughout the industry.
